Prisoner of Conscience

The figure was influenced by the controversial painting, 'Black Christ', which the artist saw as a child at the Edinburgh Festival in the 60's. The work had been created by a prisoner of conscience and smuggled out of confinement. The sculpture represents the great spiritual courage to be found in many men and women who have under gone adversity and pain for their belief.
